Scream 7

Scream 7 earned $65 million in its US opening weekend and $97+ million worldwide in its first three days (February 27 – March 1, 2026). It is still running in theatres and collecting globally.

Scream 7 is a clear HIT. With a $45 million production budget and a $112.5 million estimated break-even point, the film earned more than half its break-even in a single weekend. It is Paramount's biggest success in over a year and a massive franchise win for the studio.

Scream 7 is on pace to become the highest-grossing film in franchise history. Its $64.1M opening already beats Scream VI's entire domestic run of $67M total, and it is well ahead of the franchise's previous peak of $81.6M (Scream, 2022). The all-time domestic Scream record was held by Scream VI at $108.4M lifetime — Scream 7 should eclipse that within two weeks.

Three main factors drove the record debut: Neve Campbell's return as Sidney Prescott (after sitting out Scream VI) generated enormous fan enthusiasm; Kevin Williamson — who wrote the original 1996 screenplay — returned to direct, lending authentic franchise credibility; and the film was the first in the series to screen in IMAX and all premium formats, which contributed roughly 40% of its gross.

Scream 7 stars Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott — returning after Scream VI), Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers), and introduces Isabel May as Tatum — Sidney's daughter named after Rose McGowan's character from the original. Anna Camp and Mason Gooding also appear. The film is directed by Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original Scream (1996).

Scream 7's $64.1M US opening is the biggest horror debut of 2026 by a significant margin, beating The Conjuring: Last Rites' $178M worldwide total in its first weekend alone. It is also the biggest February horror opening in cinema history, surpassing Hannibal's $58M debut in 2001.
