No budget figure is on record yet, so there's nothing to measure today's number against directly. The long-running Doraemon theatrical franchise has released a new feature in Japan almost every year for decades, and this entry's India run is a test of how much of that built-in family audience travels beyond its home market on a single opening day. Saturday's number, not Friday's, will say whether this is a real weekend event for families or a modest one-day opening-day curiosity.
