Most films two months into a theatrical run settle into a plain, predictable decline. The Odyssey's Day 61 read is doing something odder — up on the day, down on the week, both at the same time.
Domestic added $1.2M on Day 61, up 15.4% from the previous day's $1.0M — but still down 25.6% against the same day the week before, the kind of week-on-week softening a two-month-old run settles into even on a day that ticks upward.
The film's own genre bet has aged well against tail-end expectations: this is Nolan's first adaptation of a classical epic rather than one of his usual near-future or heist premises, built around Matt Damon's Odysseus, and a run still adding seven figures daily this deep into its life says that bet is still paying off well past the opening-weekend crowd.
At $602.9M domestic against a $250M budget, the recovery ratio sits at 2.40x — inching toward the 2.5x SUPERHIT line rather than flattening out — while the worldwide gross has now passed $1.69B.
