Haiwaan added ₹2.50Cr on Day 2, a 16.7% dip from its ₹3.00Cr opening day, pushing the India lifetime net to ₹5.50Cr.

A 16.7% Saturday dip is a normal correction — the real test is still ahead.

Priyadarshan has spent over four decades directing across Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi cinema, and Haiwaan is one of several films he has made opposite Akshay Kumar — an actor whose annual release count has rarely dropped below two or three in the last twenty years. A pairing this familiar carries its own built-in audience rather than needing a fresh introduction, which makes the size of the opening weekend, not just its existence, the more meaningful number here.

At ₹130Cr, the film has recovered a little over 4% of its budget in two days — an unremarkable pace this early, and one that says nothing about the outcome yet. What the weekend actually needs is Sunday holding closer to Friday's number than Saturday's, which would suggest the audience is building rather than fading.

Worth watching: a two-day recovery under 5% of a ₹130Cr budget is normal for Day 2 — but the film has a long climb ahead, and Sunday's number will say more about that climb than either of the first two days did.
