Athiradi collected ₹2.25Cr on its fifth day. Tovino Thomas’s high-profile action film has now crossed ₹23Cr in India Net, but the sharp fall from Day 4’s ₹5.6Cr shows that the initial excitement has cooled down significantly.
The film entered theatres with decent expectations and managed a respectable opening. However, the second-week correction has been brutal. At just 0.29x of its ₹80Cr budget, the recovery looks extremely difficult unless the film finds unexpected strength in smaller centres over the next few days.
What started as a potential big opener for Mollywood has quickly turned into a standard mid-tier performer. The action set pieces and scale are visible on screen, but the lack of strong word-of-mouth appears to be hurting its chances of a longer run.
